The task of the Committee was to provide assistance to the sisters of mercy who visited the theaters of hostilities, but in peacetime were left without a livelihood. The patroness and honorary chairman of the Committee was E.I.V. Princess Eugenia Maximilianovna of Oldenburg (1845–1925). The monogram of her name is placed on front side
