From 1931 to 1935, he studied at a vocational school under P.D. Bazhenov. From 1935, he worked at the Palekh Artists' Association. He participated in exhibitions from 1955. A.V. Terekhin's works are held in museums: the State Museum of Fine Arts, the Ivanovo Art Museum, the Kursk Regional Art Gallery, the All-Russian A.S. Pushkin Museum, and the Russian Art Fund.
